Check Up!!

Last Thursday we went for Delaney's check up and all is good!!! She weighed 12 pounds, 1 ounce and was 23.5 inches long!! She is in the 70-75 percentile on height, weight and head size... Very well proportioned! :) She did have to get 3 shots while we were there and boy she was not happy with us after that.  I swear she was looking at me and Drew with complete disappointment that we could let them do that to her!

This Thursday we will be attempting to conquer the airport to fly to Tulsa... wish us luck!!  I just pray we will not be the "those people" with the crying baby making the whole flight miserable for everyone.  We are super excited for Delaney to meet the rest of her Oklahoma family and friends.

On a fun note... Happy Valentine's Day!!!!  I have the best husband in the world... knowing that I am not big on flowers and candy, he surprised me with custom license plates for my car! There is a new Kilgore Rangerette plate that just came out Friday and he had it customized with RETTE62 (my line number)!!! Those who know us well, know our history with Valentine's Day... this one is much better!!! Hahaha!!!

2 Months Old!!

Wow, how time flies!!!!  Delaney just passed her 2 month birthday and we have her 2 month check up on the 10th!  It has been a wonderful few weeks full of exciting events.  She is really alert and is taking the world in every minute! She lies on her play mat swinging at the toys and has started to grab hold of them.  She is laughing and smiling at more than gas and loves kicking her feet!  Drew and I have been getting plenty of rest too! She will always sleep 6 hours at night and there have been multiple nights she has slept 8 or 9 hours!  I am probably jinxing myself by bragging... oh well...

Drew and I have gotten out of the house twice now.  Dee Dee and Paw Paw babysat while we went to a wedding and a birthday party.  It was the strangest feeling to leave and talk about her without her there but I think it was good for us.

Delaney had a visit from some of her Oklahoma relatives... LaLa (Lisa), Aunt Robyn, Aunt Dynda and Great Grandma Joyce!! It was a great weekend and we were so appreciative of them making the trip! Robyn... I need those pics!! :)

2 Week Milestones!

Yesterday Delaney turned 2 weeks old and we had a GREAT check up at the doctor!  She weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.  The doctor was extremely happy with her growth and said that everything looked fantastic! Her umbilical cord fell off before we left the doctor so she was able to take her first real bath last night!  She actually enjoyed it and never even fussed!  :)  I have included some pictures... I think she has changed so much in 2 weeks!  It is amazing!

Our First Week!

After a long labor and delivery I am pleased to say that we are home and everyone is healthy!  This is all I have been praying for the last 9 months.  Delaney Jordyn joined us on Tuesday, November 30th at 2:37pm, weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces and 21 inches long!  We were able to go home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon without any complications and for those of you who know me well, know this was a miracle in itself! :)

We have already made our first trip to the pediatrician, had our first bath at home, slept in our swing, bouncer, bassinet and crib! She is a great eater and sleeper!!  We definitely have our fussy times but over all I think she is an amazing baby... but maybe I am a little biased!  I never imagined the first week would be so much fun and that we would see so much of her little personality so quickly.

Drew has been amazing and being a daddy comes so naturally to him.  I count my blessings every day! 

Thank you to everyone who has come to see us, called, emailed, text messaged and facebooked!!!  Delaney has an amazing support group to stand by her as she grows.  We love all of you!!

Blessed...

At this point I feel like we are just sitting around, waiting for something to happen!  All of our hospital bags are packed, the car seat is in my car, the house is spotless and the only thing missing from the nursery is a precious little princess!  Yesterday my doctor said everything still looked good but not much progress.  We have an ultrasound scheduled for November 24th (next Wednesday) and if everything looks good then we will probably schedule to induce on the 28th-29th!

The last week has been very emotional.  Everyday I hold my breath to find out what the news of the day will be... everything from one friend's cancer removal, to another friend's miscarriage, to my BF's car wreck, to 3 new babies being born!  God has been very busy listening to all my prayers.  Right now, Drew and I just feel extremely blessed!  We will celebrate our 4th anniversary on Thursday and then wait for Miss Delaney to make her grand entrance.  No matter what happens, I know that I have the most wonderful husband in the world and we are strong enough together to make it though anything.

Check Up...

Well, I went for my first "weekly" check up yesterday and everything looks good! I have swelling in my hands and can't get my engagement ring on but the doctor assures me that is normal.   :(  Everything feels like it is actually starting to come together.  We have maternity pictures on Saturday and the last shower on Sunday!  After that, we will be in the patient process of waiting... YEAH RIGHT!  I am trying to enjoy the last few weeks and not wish them away but we are very excited and it is hard to not get overly anxious in the final days!  I go back to the doctor on the 10th!!
